Vic: Spate of fires to start fire ban day

Firefighters have already had to contend with a spate of small grass fires around Melbourne's
outer rim as the state braces for a day of extreme fire danger.

A total fire ban has been imposed on all of the state, apart from the eastern region
of Gippsland, where an extreme fire danger alert is in place.
