NSW: Mystery woman may hold murder clue

By Janine O'Neill

SYDNEY, April 9 AAP - A mystery woman who phoned police twice in 10 minutes may hold the
vital clue needed to catch the killer of New South Wales schoolgirl Michelle Bright.

A man walking his dog found the 17-year-old's body on March 2 by a roadside north of the
small rural town of Gulgong, 260km north-west of Sydney.

Detectives today said a woman who anonymously contacted Crime Stoppers twice on Tuesday
night could have information crucial to the investigation.

The detective heading the investigation, acting Inspector Dave Payne, urged the woman to
contact Strike Force Mitcham police.

"She provided certain information which we believe could be crucial to the enquiry," Insp
Payne told AAP.

"We definitely wish to speak to her and would like her to contact us directly.

"I can't reveal what she told Crime Stoppers, but I can say she rang twice on that evening
within 10 minutes and she was very nervous about making contact and was very hesitant."
