frontbench over a federal-state ALP deal to introduce new native title laws covering Queensland

Sport - Pat Rafter loses to Spaniard Gaily Blanco in the first round of the US Open
tennis. Wayne Arthurs in an upset defeat of second seed Gustavo Kuerten in the first round
of the US Open. Tiger Woods wins the US PGA player-of-the-year award.
